Dialysis units across Australia and New Zealand forced to ration lifesaving care

On the 5th of May we released the 2025 Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN) and Australia and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry (ANZDATA) Haemodialysis Capacity Survey, the most comprehensive assessment of dialysis capacity across Australia and New Zealand to date.

The findings reveal growing pressure on haemodialysis services, with many units operating at or beyond safe and sustainable capacity.

Key findings from the report include:

▪️ 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 80% 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦
