Working Groups
Working Group Functions
ANZDATA working groups are responsible for the following:
- Reviewing, on an annual basis, the data captured by the ANZDATA survey
- Promoting research within their area. This includes generating research ideas, conducting data analysis, publishing results, and presenting findings
- Responding to research queries, applications, or suggestions from ANZDATA contributors outside the working group. Where appropriate, facilitating such research, whether it is carried out by the person making the request, by the working group, or through a joint effort
- Providing an annual report of their research activities to the ANZDATA Chairman
- Producing the relevant chapter or chapters for the Annual Report. This task is primarily the responsibility of the Convener of the working group
- Presenting data and analyses at relevant society meetings
Membership in a working group offers substantial rewards, including involvement in ANZDATA activities, collaboration with peers, and opportunities for publication and presentation. However, it also requires a strong commitment, including participation in teleconferences or meetings several times per year, accountability for research outputs, and responsibility for the ANZDATA data acquisition process.
