Safety and Quality Working Group

The ANZDATA Quality and Safety Working Group plays a critical role in supporting the ANZDATA Registry to advance quality improvement initiatives in kidney care across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Reporting to the ANZDATA Executive Committee, the Working Group provides strategic oversight of quality and safety activities, with its Chair serving as a member of the Executive Committee to ensure strong governance and alignment.

The Working Group’s responsibilities encompass a broad range of functions designed to enhance transparency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in clinical care. These include developing an outlier management plan to identify and support centres with performance variations, and liaising with professional societies, healthcare providers, and government where appropriate. It also oversees the analysis and reporting of centre-specific outcomes, ensuring robust benchmarking across the region.
