ANZDATA Consumer Advisory Panel
Overview
The ANZDATA Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) was established in 2023 to ensure that the voices of people affected by kidney disease help guide the ANZDATA’s work. The CAP provides strategic advice on:
- What data is collected and why
- How information is used and shared
- Research priorities and patient-focused outputs
Each member has been personally impacted by chronic kidney disease, a long-term condition where the kidneys gradually lose their ability to filter blood. The CAP includes individuals who are receiving dialysis, have had a kidney transplant, have donated a kidney, or have supported someone living with kidney disease as a carer, family member, or friend. Their unique experiences and perspectives provide valuable insights that are instrumental in advancing our goal of enhancing the quality of care and outcomes for individuals with kidney failure in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
